Ciao Torino!

Italy...you never cease to amaze me! Though my Olympic spirit is not as extreme as it once was back in the day (I don't know any other 12-year old that would spend $105 of their saved up lucky money on Olympic paraphernalia, nevermind taping the Opening and Closing ceremonies amongst other events, memorizing the Olympic tv schedule, knowing how to draw the Olympic mascots, and saving newspaper clippings and sports magazines documenting anything that had to do with the Olympics...yes, frightening I know), every time the Olympics roll by, a part of me is still excited. Watching the athletes represent their countries in the biggest moment in their lives...the excitement in the crowds...hearing the Canadian national anthem and watching the athletes receive the medals that they have strived their whole life to achieve....it's just spectacular! What makes it even more exciting is that this year the Olympics are being held in one of my all-time favorite places: Italy! So yes, best wishes to all those blessed to be in Torino for the 20th Olympiad and as they say in Italy,

in bocca al lupo
